Maybe “The Beaver” changed her mind?
Mel Gibson’s ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva just dropped the domestic violence charges she was pursuing against the actor, TMZ reports.
Grigorieva’s lawyer Dan Horowitz made the announcement Wednesday, telling a judge and Gibson’s lawyer that they would no longer be pursuing the charges that Mel’s alleged violent behavior is grounds for changes to the custody agreement over the former couple’s daughter Lucia.
According to TMZ sources, the move was an attempt to extend an olive branch to Gibson following more than a year of bitter back and forth swipes in a custody battle played out in courts and the media.
A protective order which prohibited Gibson from contacting or harassing Grigorieva has also been dropped, TMZ reports. The Russian singer reportedly wants to be able to contact Gibson directly, rather than using an intermediary.
Gibson’s new film “The Beaver” opens nationwide May 20.
In it, his character talks through a beaver hand puppet.
