Several celebrities shared valuable (and painful) lessons from their hospital beds this year as they provided cringeworthy photographic evidence of their various injuries.

Many took to social media to caution fans not to make the same mistakes — whether that means slowing down on the racetrack or watching closely where you step. Others, however, were more cryptic about the details that led to their particular injuries.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD DETAILS 'FREAK ACCIDENT' THAT LEFT HER WITH 40 STITCHES: 'IT WASN'T PRETTY'

Here's a look at a handful of stars who suffered or revealed their injuries this year.

Mel B

Spice Girls star Mel B said she was taken to the hospital in early December after fracturing two ribs and "severing" her hand. She didn't go into details about how the injuries occurred, but she did use the hashtag #accidentshappen on Instagram.

The "America's Got Talent" judge, sporting a purple sling in the photo, said she had to have a three-hour surgery to "repair the damage."

"I've had to, unfortunately, cancel my book signing today in NY, I apologize to each and everyone one of you who bought there tickets to meet me today," she wrote on Instagram, noting she was still in a great deal of pain. "I’m absolutely gutted but I can assure you it WILL happen at a later date, I promise."

Candace Cameron Bure

Candace Cameron Bure's older brother, Kirk Cameron, took responsibility for a gruesome hand injury Bure suffered during a go-karting trip in early December, admitting it was his "fault completely."

"I'm a crazy driver," Cameron explained in an Instagram story, as Bure was being treated in the emergency room. "I tried to cut her off and take the lead."

"Went go-karting with my brother and two sisters. I've been released now, but was in the ER," Bure later explained to her Instagram followers. "Clearly I am fine ... got some damage to my hand — but it's not broken, and my shoulder, but it's not broken."

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood's "freak accident" that left her with a broken wrist and 40 stitches may have occurred last fall, but the country superstar didn't share details nor reveal the extent of her injuries until 2018.

The singer stayed out of the spotlight for months as she recovered from her injuries. It wasn't until April that Underwood finally revealed her face in a photo for the first time since she took a nasty tumble outside her Nashville home.

A month later, Underwood opened up about the incident in her first televised interview since that dreadful day.

"I just fell. I just tripped taking my dogs out to do their business," she told TODAY's Hoda Kotb. "I say if I'd fallen anywhere else it wouldn't have been a problem, but there was just one little step that I went to catch myself on, and I missed."

At the time of the accident, Underwood says she was alone — with only her 3-year-old son, Isaiah, upstairs. She was rushed to the hospital, where she recovered away from the public eye.

Slowly, but surely, Underwood said she's been trying to "get back to normal."

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore vowed to "never do [her] own stunts again" after suffering a massive concussion while filming the first season of the "Santa Clarita Diet" in 2016.

The actress told People in April she was hospitalized for two days after she attempted to jump onto an actor's back and ended up falling 6 feet and landing on the concrete.

“That was the end of a wonderful era. I can look back at a bunch of movies that I totally was a baller and always threw myself in there," Barrymore said. “I whip it in ‘Charlie’s Angels.' But I will never do a stunt again because I could’ve died and it was really scary.”

Millie Bobby Brown

"Stranger Things" star Millie Bobby Brown was forced to skip the MTV Movie and TV Awards in June after suffering what she called a "milestone" injury.

The teen said she split her kneecap in a bad accident and was unable to move around easily. Brown apologized to adoring fans in an Instagram video, revealing her crutches and cast.

“I’ve never actually broken a bone except for now. I have split my kneecap,” Brown explained. “From the doctor’s orders, he told me to rest up. So, I won’t be attending the MTV Awards this weekend.”

Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell was hospitalized after he was involved in a two-car crash in California in April.

Video from the scene obtained by Fox News showed a black SUV on its side on the road. The video also captured the star on the phone while being lifted into an ambulance.

The Orange County Fire Authority, which responded to the scene, told Fox News that the accident involved two vehicles, a sedan and a limo SUV, and that all three passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Radio personality Melyssa Ford suffered serious injuries after getting into a major car wreck on California's Ventura Freeway in July.

A tractor trailer-reportedly clipped the back of Ford’s tire and sent her into a tailspin on the freeway and flipped her vehicle.

Ford’s rep told Us Weekly she had a “10-inch open wound” that had to be “surgically closed.” Ford also reportedly had several large gashes on her arms and legs.

“Melyssa doesn’t remember much so I’m hoping witnesses will come forward and assist in putting the pieces back together,” talk show host Claudia Jordan explained in an Instagram post, which revealed the damage to Ford's Jeep.
