Mario Lopez and his wife Courtney Mazza welcomed their second child, their first boy, in Los Angeles on the evening of Sept. 9.
“It’s a boy!!!!!!!!! Please welcome Dominic Lopez to the world,” the “Extra” and “X-Factor” host announced via Twitter. “Couldn’t be happier … @CourtneyMLopez and baby are doing just fine.”
Dominic weighed in at 7 lbs., 2 oz, the couple revealed in a statement via Extra early Tuesday. “Mother and baby are doing well,” they added.
Dominic joins big sister Gia Francesca, who turns 3 on Wednesday.
“I am in heaven right now … And in a bar. #CelebratingDominicLopez #BabyLopezNumber2,” the happy father tweeted about an hour after the birth announcement.
About two hours before Dominic's birth, Lopez tweeted: "Whoa ... Cutting it close. Just wrapped @TheXFactorUSA & I'm rushing to the hospital. Baby Lopez #2 is coming tonight! Baby better wait for me."
He made it to the hospital in time when he posted a picture of him and Mazza dressed in a hospital gown.
The couple married in December 2012 at Lopez’s friend vacation home in Punta Mita, Mexico, with Eva Longoria as a bridesmaid and little Gia walking down the aisle as an adorable flower girl. They announced the second pregnancy in late February.
“I am the happiest father in the world,” Lopez said on Extra in February. “We cannot wait to welcome baby Lopez number two into our lives.”
