On “Nashville” Hayden Panettiere shows off her singing voice. On the cover of Glamour, the 23-year-old showed off her beach body.
For the May issue of the magazine, on newsstands April 9, Panettiere stripped down to a bathing suit and gave fans an up-close look at her life (and awesome beach body).
Still, Panettiere was quick to say that –though many young girls may think otherwise—she’s not flawless.
“I will never say that I’m perfect; I will never pretend to be perfect. That’s just unrealistic,” she said. “You’re kind of unexpectedly put in this position of becoming a role model; that’s not something you choose.”
But judging by the other young starlets in her generation, like Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes, Panettiere said she understands why people see her as “Miss Perfect.”
“I came up in the Messy Generation. The generation of the disaster child,” she explained.
She said her protective parents helped her stay safe and grounded.
“It’s not that I didn’t go to clubs, have my picture taken. I was 16 years old. I was experimenting just like any kid. But I had friends and family around me to yank me back when I was heading in the wrong direction… The thing that really saved me was that I still had that healthy fear of my parents—I still had a midnight curfew at 18!”
Now at 23, the actress spends her time singing country tunes on “Nashville” and hanging out with boyfriend Wladimir Klitschko.
But Panettiere was coy about her future with Klitschko, despite speculation that the two are engaged. She said she doesn’t “really have a plan” or thoughts on getting married at a young age. She did, however, gush about her excitement to become a mom one day.
“I’ve lived a very big life, and I don’t feel my age, and I feel like I was born to be a mother…. I would sacrifice having more years of being wherever I want whenever I want for years with my kids.”
