Kendall Jenner making smart career move?

Kendall Jenner decided to bare her chest in an artistic photo, was it all part of her career plan?

Kendall Jenner is following in her big sister Kim Kardashian’s risqué footsteps. Only days after Jenner turned 18, she posted a black and white picture where she wore nothing more than a black mesh top revealing her chest. The photo was taken by famed photographer Russell James. Although the Kardashian/Jenner camp publicly supported the young reality star’s choice to pose half-naked in the name of “art,” the public has had mixed reactions. Is Jenner’s revealing photo too much too soon?

Chris Spagnuolo, founder of Guyism.com, suggested that Jenner’s artistic shot should have debuted in a magazine, not on Instagram.

“I think it definitely would have been classier for her to have the photo out in a magazine rather on Instagram. I mean she’s a kid,” he said.

Spagnuolo noted that it’s impressive that Jenner attracted such a big-name photographer.

“The guy’s the house photographer for Victoria’s Secret.  I mean it’s something to be proud of. I mean it’s a little gross for an 18 year old to do that, but it’s still something--as far as the family goes-- it’s a step up for them. It’s high fashion. “

And at 18, it’s Jenner’s choice to bare all, said Pop Culture expert Valerie Greenberg, of You’vebeenVALidated.com.

“Kendall Jenner may have just turned 18 but she is now an adult. So it’s her choice to pose provocatively if she wants to,” Greenberg said.

But the reality starlet’s choices could influence her young fan base, Greenberg cautioned.

“Kendall is exploring and taking this sexy route, if you will, but I think she owes it to her 17 and 18 year old peers to impress it upon them that you shouldn’t be taking sexual selfies… I think it’s essential that her peers realize it’s not something you do every day...”

But for Jenner, the controversial shot could be a well-thought-out career move, Spagnuolo  speculated.

“She’s going to go about building her brand how she wants. I think if she wants to be a fashion model this is a great way to get attention. Everyone’s talking about her. She’s on Page Six and in the newspapers. She’s everywhere,” he said.

And Spagnuolo said on his men’s website, the response to Jenner’s picture has been overwhelmingly positive.

“I think the men are very excited about Kendall Jenner’s first photo being out there and being so aggressive about it.”

Although Kendall may share her sister Kim’s exhibitionist spirit, our experts predict she will steer clear of a sex tape.

“I really think that she exudes class and is a lovely young lady and I just hope to see her career grow, and do I think she and Kim are channeling some of the same fashion looks that we’ve seen out there….and do I think it’s planned? Yes, because we’re talking about the Kardashian/Jenner clan,” Greenberg said.
