Antonio Banderas doesn't seem to be having any trouble moving on from his nearly 20-year marriage with Melanie Griffith.
The veteran Spanish actor opened up about his new girlfriend, Nicole Kimpel, at the 10th annual Malagueños de Hoy awards in Spain earlier this week.
The “Desperado” actor told the Olive Press that he and Kimpel that the couple was taking it slow.
“We are in the process of getting to know each other,” Banderas, 54, said. “She is shy and doesn’t have anything to do with my work, which is no bad thing.”
According to the paper, Kimpel – who is 20 years his junior – is a Dutch investment consultant. She and Banderas have been romantically linked since the summer, shortly after he announced his split from Griffith, 56.
Banderas and Griffith first met on the set of the 1995 film “Two Much” and married a year later.
“We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost 20-years marriage in a loving and friendly manner, honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together,” the couple said in a statement issued by their representative.
They have an 18-year-old daughter named Stella.
