Ram’s latest buzz model certainly looks the part.
The Stinger Yellow 1500 Sport is a limited edition version of the light duty pickup that sports a bright yellow paint with matte black badging and stripes, body-colored grille, and a 395 hp 5.7-liter Hemi V8.
It’s reminiscent of the 2004-2005 Rumble Bee, but instead of a standard cab, the Stinger only comes in a crew cab configuration, with either a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain. Ram unveiled a concept for a resurrected Rumble Bee at the Woodward Dream Cruise in 2013 that featured additional bodywork, a covered bed, and a real bee encased in amber, but the Stinger is more of a paint and stickers job.
Two-wheel drive Stingers get 22-inch wheels, while off-roaders can dare to scratch the 4x4’s yellow paint rolling on 20-inchers. The black interior also gets yellow highlights, and the trucks come with standard navigation at a starting price of $44,340. RamBox bedside storage compartments are extra.
Just 2,250 of the Stingers will be built, which is less than half the number of Rumble Bees that were produced in each of the years it was on sale.
