S. Korea's Yonhap news agency reports that eight people have been killed and several others are missing after a fishing boat capsized off the country's southern coast.

Yonhap quotes coast guard officials as saying the boat was found early Sunday morning north of the resort island of Jeju. It had left Chuja Island and was on its way to Haenam, South Jeolla Province, on the mainland.

Officials said three people were rescued and flown to a hospital on Jeju.

South Korea is still dealing with grief and anger over a maritime disaster last year that killed 300 people, mostly school children, when a ferry sank off the southern coast.
