BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil – Teofilo "Teo" Gutierrez will lead Colombia's attack along with surprise starter Victor Ibarbo in the Group C opener against Greece on Saturday in the South American country's first World Cup match in 16 years.
Carlos Bacca was expected by many to play alongside Gutierrez but he was listed was among the substitutes as Colombia makes do without star striker Radamel Falcao, who was cut from the squad before the tournament because of injury.
Greece fielded a strong lineup with Georgios Samaras, Dimitris Salpingidis and Fanis Gekas included. Forward Kostas Mitroglou was on the bench after having little playing time since joining English side Fulham at the start of the year.
