Turkey's state-run news agency says authorities have detained 24 people in connection with an investigation into the leaking of a police academy exam in 2012.
Anadolu Agency said Friday that detention warrants were issued for a total of 40 suspects who are suspected of leaking questions before the exam date.
Turkish authorities believe that years-long exam fraud allowed supporters of U.S.-based Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen to infiltrate the police force. Turkey accuses Gulen of masterminding last year's failed coup attempt. The cleric denies involvement.

The suspects were detained in raids in Ankara, Istanbul and three other cities. Anadolu said all of the suspects were previously fired from public sector jobs.
Turkey has arrested more than 50,000 people and purged over 110,000 from government jobs in the failed coup's aftermath.
