Tunisian police seized 3 FEMEN activists attempting to disrobe in front of Ministry of Justice
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Tunisian police have seized three foreign activists were disrobing in front of the Ministry of Justice, displaying "Free Amina" slogans on their stomachs, to protest against the jailing of a Tunisian member of the Ukrainian feminist group FEMEN.
The three were hustled to a police station as some 200 people gathered to protest the women's actions.
The demonstrators were accompanied by a few representatives of Tunisian civil society, who were harshly criticized by the protesters, many of whom appeared to be conservative Muslims by their attire.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Tunisian woman Amina Tyler scandalized society by posting topless pictures of herself online in March in a FEMEN-inspired protest.
She was arrested May 19 for attempting to protest during a thwarted gathering of ultraconservative Muslims in the city of Kairouan and is in prison.
