Suicide bomber kills at least 15 in Afghanistan

DEVELOPING: An Afghan official says a suicide bomber has blown himself up in a crowded main square in the northern city of Kunduz, killing at least 15 people.

A spokesman for the Kunduz provincial governor Enayatullah Khaliq says the blast took place Monday. He had no other details.

Governor Mohammad Anwar said the bomber was on foot and blew himself up next to a group of police officers.

The capital has the same name as the northern province.
