The Edinburgh Airport in Scotland is being reopened after closing briefly Tuesday night due to a suspicious package.
Airport spokesman Gordon Dewar confirmed in a statement that there is no threat at the airport after an intensive investigation.
According to Sky News, the suspicious package was spotted while going through a security X-ray machine.
Sources told the Edinburgh Evening News that the package was an improvised explosive device (IED) and was found during a routine security check at the departures lounge.
According to the report, a male passenger tested positively for traces of explosives on his hands.
“The man has been arrested and he is claiming that he did not pack his bag himself," an official told the Edinburgh Evening News.
Bomb disposal experts were at the scene, the Edinburgh Evening News reported.
