News reports say the driver in the hit-and-run case of an American woman killed while jogging in Tuscany has turned himself in.
Italy's Sky TG24 TV and Ansa news agency say the suspect is a local man who claims he fell asleep at the wheel Sunday when his car fatally struck Allison Owens, 23, from Columbus, Ohio.
Owens family lawyer Valentino Durante told The Associated Press that until he meets with prosecutors he cannot comment on the reports. Carabinieri paramilitary police in Arezzo, where the probe is based, were about to give a news conference about Friday's development.
