Report: 10 Killed During Violence in Cairo Square

At least 10 people have been killed during violent clashes between pro- and anti-government demonstrators in a Cairo square, a doctor at a makeshift clinic treating the casualties told Reuters Thursday.

Dr. Sayyid Hussein said the makeshift clinic, which was operating out of a mosque near the square, had registered 10 deaths.

"An hour and a half ago, two people were rushed to me with gunshot wounds to the head," Hussein told Reuters.

Another doctor, Yasser Tibi, said: "They were gasping and died. A third case followed, which was very severe, but that case was taken to hospital by ambulance."

Egypt's health minister had earlier announced that six people had been killed and more than 800 others were wounded.
