Mexico: Fire at illegal pipeline tap near where 10 killed
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Fire has broken out at a clandestine pipeline tap in the central Mexico state of Puebla, where clashes over illegal fuel thefts killed 10 people just days ago.
The state Public Security Department says firefighters are working to put out the blaze in the town of Nenetzintla.
It has posted photos on Twitter showing two charred pickups and flames and smoke billowing next to "Do not excavate" signs that signal the presence of an underground pipeline.

Authorities have been trying to crack down on illegal pipeline taps that cost Mexico's state oil company about $1.5 billion a year according to some estimates.
On Wednesday, gunmen opened fire on army patrols investigating pipeline thefts. Four soldiers and six attackers were killed.
