Mexican police detain suspected narco sought in slaying of peace activist's only child
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Mexican authorities say they have arrested an alleged drug trafficker as a suspect in the killing of a peace activist's only child.
Chihuahua state prosecutors say police detained Angel Taboada Villanueva in the northern city of Chihuahua on Tuesday. He is suspected of being a member of the Beltran Leyva drug cartel.
Taboada Villanueva is one of several men allegedly involved in the 2011 slaying of the college-student son of poet Javier Sicilia. The killing led Sicilia to become a vocal critic of the Mexican government's military crackdown on drug cartels.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Sicilia's son, Juan, and six friends were abducted by gunmen while leaving a nightclub in Cuernavaca, and their bodies were found abandoned near the city. Authorities say they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
