Magnitude 4.5 earthquake rattles Montreal area, no reports of damage

An earthquake has rattled the Montreal region early Wednesday, waking up some people but causing no injuries or damage.
Natural Resources Canada reported on its website that the magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck shortly after midnight with the epicenter in the Longueuil area just south of Montreal.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. The quake caused some buildings to rumble for a few seconds, sending people scurrying briefly from their houses.

Dominique Anglade, a member of Montreal's large Haitian community, says on Twitter that she felt the quake and it evoked "very bad memories" of Haiti's devastating 2010 earthquake that killed her parents.
