Italian soldier killed in attack in western Afghanistan

Italy's government says an enemy attack has killed at Italian soldier in western Afghanistan.

The Defense Ministry said three other soldiers were wounded in the attack Saturday morning in Farah province as they were returning from training Afghan security forces. It gave no further details

But Farah province provincial government spokesman Abdul Rahman Zhawandai says a man threw a grenade at an Italian convoy.

The death brought to 13 the number of international troops killed in Afghanistan this month. On Thursday, seven Georgian soldiers died in a truck bombing at their base in the south.
