JERUSALEM -- Israel is calling on the world to stop Iran's "pursuit of nuclear weapons" following the release of a tough report by the U.N. atomic agency.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office issued a statement Wednesday saying the report by the International Atomic Energy Agency confirms Israel's long-standing claims that Iran is developing nuclear bombs.

"The significance of the report is that the international community must bring about the cessation of Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons, which endanger the peace of the world and of the Middle East," the statement said.

Israel considers Iran to be its most dangerous enemy.
