Iraqi Kurds say Kirkuk blasts kill at least 10

Kurdish military officials and residents say that three explosions have torn through a residential neighborhood in the northern city of Kirkuk, killing over 10 people.

Officials with Kurdish fighting units said dozens were injured in the Saturday blasts, which detonated near buildings used as lookout points. Residents said the explosions were about 200 meters (yards) apart. The officials spoke anonymously because they are not authorized to brief the media, while residents did the same for fear of retribution.

Officials say many displaced Iraqis live near the area targeted in blasts.
