Authorities in Puerto Rico say a policeman arrested on suspicion of killing three fellow officers at work was shot three times during the incident.
Dr. Israel Ayala told reporters Tuesday that Guarionex Candelario has a bullet lodged in his thorax and another in his arm. Ayala said he might have to undergo surgery but is expected to recover.
It is unclear who shot Candelario. Authorities have said they will not release any details because the investigation is ongoing.
