Former World Championship finalist Ali Carter will return to action at the Shanghai Masters after being given the all-clear from testicular cancer.
Carter underwent an operation shortly after making his cancer diagnosis public on July 1 and he later sought a follow-up examination from his oncologist.
But the 33-year-old wrote on his Twitter account: "Just had the best news ever! I've got the all clear!

"Will be back in action in the shanghai masters. Thankyou everyone for all your support!"
His decision to return for September's world ranking event in Shanghai gives Carter another two months to recuperate from his illness.
The news of Carter's cancer followed a health scare in 2003 when the Colchester player was diagnosed with Crohn's disease.
