- As part of the festivities, figures made out of a paper-mâché-type material, many of them satirizing the news, are displayed on the street. All but the one voted to be the best will be burned in a bonfire on Saturday, March 19. A play on "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" titled, "Barakanieves y los subamericanitos." This entry features Barck Obama as Snow White and a bevy of Latin American leaders—including presidents Felipe Calderón (Mexico), Hugo Chávez (Venezuela), Cristina Fernández (Argentina), Dilma Rousseff (Brazil), and Sebastián Piñera (Chile)—make appearances. Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro makes an appearance as the Evil Stepmother.read more
