Alligator Bites Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Car

An alligator bit the front bumper of an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office patrol car Sunday.

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Victor Borrero responded to a call for an alligator in a neighborhood and the alligator bit the front bumper of the patrol car and would not let go.

The sheriff’s office says the patrol car was driven backwards in an attempt to dislodge the alligator but the alligator continued to pull on the front bumper until the front tag frame was destroyed. The front bumper and grill sustained damage.

Florida Fish and Wildlife contracted a trapper to the scene who removed the alligator.
