ZANZIBAR, Tanzania – A Tanzanian police official says at least 41 people have died after a long haul truck rammed into a bus in Iringa region of Tanzania.
Ramadhan Mungi, the regional police commissioner, said Wednesday it's not clear how many people are injured.
He says some people are trapped between the truck and bus but efforts to free them are futile due to lack of equipment.
Government spokesman, Assah Mwambene, says the truck was heading from the town of Mbeya to Dar Es Salaam while the bus was heading in the opposite direction.
