Woman shot during ‘absolutely chaotic’ Beverly Hills watch robbery speaks out

The woman shot during the violent robbery at a Beverly Hills restaurant called the brazen, broad-daylight heist "absolutely chaotic," according to a new report.

Amanda Shawhan was grazed in the calf as she dined at Il Pastaio on Thursday afternoon — moments after a trio of thieves came up behind jewelry dealer Shay Belhassen and swiped his $500,000 Richard Mille timepiece.

Belhassen put up a fight, but one of the suspects got away with the pricey piece.

Four shots rang out during the struggle — one of them grazing Shawhan.

"Imagine someone tying a firecracker to your leg and then setting it off," she told KCAL-TV. "It was absolutely chaotic."

"Obviously everyone at the restaurant, their lives are permanently altered for having this experience," Shawhan added.

Her attorney, Joseph Low, called Beverly Hills "the new hunting ground for those who are looking for a quick snatch."

"It can get violent, and it can get deadly and it needs to be fixed," he told the station.

Shawhan wasn’t the only person injured during the robbery.

As the thieves took off with the watch, they slammed another bystander to the pavement.

"He came up behind me and he smashed me to the ground," that victim, who declined to give her name, recently told the outlet. "I thought I was shot. The pain and the way I was slammed to the ground, I thought that one of the bullets went in me."

Since the incident, the city has added a dozen armed guards on foot, plus six additional security patrol cars, according to the report.

Beverly Hills Police Chief Dominick Rivetti called Thursday’s incident "an anomaly," according to the report.

"And it will not happen again," he added.
