DOVER, N.H. – The woman who says she watched her ex-boyfriend strangle a 19-year-old University of New Hampshire student has testified the three of them played strip poker before the killing.
Twenty-year-old Kathryn McDonough resumed testifying Wednesday in the trial of Seth Mazzaglia (muh-ZAYL'-yuh). She testified Tuesday that he strangled Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott on Oct. 9, 2012.
Prosecutors say Marriott rebuffed his sexual advances.
McDonough testified Marriott agreed to play strip poker with her and the 31-year-old Mazzaglia. She said she and Mazzaglia wound up naked.
McDonough testified she lost the next round, and so Mazzaglia suggested she kiss Marriott. She said Marriott objected.
Mazzaglia's lawyers told jurors that McDonough killed Marriott during rough sex. They say Mazzaglia helped dispose of her body and took blame because of his love for McDonough.
