LAS VEGAS -- Las Vegas-area school administrators are enlisting volunteers for a push to find and encourage students to return to the classroom in a district where half never make it to graduation.
Sign-ups are being accepted through Friday at the Clark County School District Partnership Office for the so-called "Reclaim Your Future" effort that starts Sept. 10.
Schools chief Dwight Jones and a deputy superintendent say teams that include district employees will go door-to-door to identify students who haven't returned to class since schools reopened Monday.

Deputy Superintendent Pedro Martinez has developed high school proficiency exam "boot camps" and individual education plans for students to earn needed credits.
The district calls it a communitywide effort to reach out and help more students earn their high school diplomas.
