BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. – Authorities say a U.S. Navy sailor has been charged in the armed robbery of a CVS store near the upstate New York training facility where he's stationed.
Police in the Saratoga County village of Ballston Spa tell local media outlets that 20-year-old Richard Sliski was arrested Monday and charged with robbery and forcible theft with a deadly weapon.
Officials say Sliski was armed with a handgun last Friday night when he stole cash and a large amount of the drug Ritalin from the CVS store in the village. Police say Sliski is on active duty with the Navy and is assigned to the nuclear training site in the neighboring town of Milton.
He's being held in the county jail on $50,000 cash. It couldn't be determined if he had a lawyer.
