Trial scheduled next summer for man accused in Las Vegas Strip shooting, crash that killed 3

A self-described pimp already in Nevada state prison for a rape and robbery conviction will go to trial next summer in a Las Vegas Strip shooting and fiery crash that killed three people.

Ammar Harris' death penalty trial was scheduled for July 6, 2015. He also faces a preliminary hearing Wednesday in a separate prison contraband smuggling case.

The 28-year-old Harris faces felony charges alleging that food, methamphetamines, vodka and a cellphone were smuggled to him by a guard earlier this year at a state prison outside Las Vegas.

He also faces murder, attempted murder and weapon charges in the spectacular and deadly February 2013 shooting and crash.
