A 16-year-old boy accused in the shooting death of a baseball player from Australia will no longer face a first-degree murder charge.
The Stephens County District Attorney's Office filed a motion to dismiss the murder charge Tuesday against James Francis Edwards Jr. Prosecutors filed a new charge of accessory after the fact.
Edwards is testifying against two other teens charged in the death of 22-year-old Chris Lane.

Lane was shot while jogging along a tree-lined road in Duncan while visiting his girlfriend's parents in August. Investigators say he was randomly targeted by "bored" teenagers.
He had been preparing to enter his senior baseball season at East Central University in Ada.
Edwards is now charged in juvenile court, though the case could be moved to adult court later.
