Smoke reported, cleared at Dupont Circle Metro station in DC after train has brake problem

Smoke was reported in a Metro station after a train had a brake problem, but the haze cleared and no one was injured.

The report of smoke Friday comes after a train filled with smoke last month near the L'Enfant Plaza station and a woman died. Dozens of other passengers were injured.

Metro spokeswoman Caroline Laurin says a train experienced a brake problem early Friday afternoon that led to smoky conditions at the Dupont Circle station. She says the train was taken out of service.

Firefighters were called to the Dupont Circle station and stopped people from entering the station for a time.
