HAYWARD, Calif. – Sheriff's officials say the suspect in the rape of a San Francisco Bay Area woman was arrested after using the victim's credit card to get a car wash and buy sexual enhancement pills.
Thirty-eight-year-old Miguel Torres was taken into custody on Wednesday night at his home in Hayward. The district attorney didn't immediately return a message about whether Torres had an attorney.
Alameda County Sheriff's investigators tell the Oakland Tribune (http://bit.ly/SVb6Hv) Torres followed a 19-year-old college student as she drove home from a friend's house over the weekend and attacked her after she parked at her apartment complex.
Investigators say they used the credit card transactions and surveillance camera footage of a white SUV following the victim to track down Torres.
