Santa Fe, NM, courthouse closed after caller threatened to kill judge

Authorities closed the state district courthouse in Santa Fe, N.M., on Monday after a caller threatened to kill a judge.

Sheriff Greg Solano says a caller phoned 911 at midmorning and made general threats against a district judge. About 20 minutes later, a caller phoned the courthouse office of Judge Michael Vigil and threatened to kill him.

Solano says the courthouse was closed and visitors kept inside for more than an hour. Nearby streets reopened at about 4 p.m., but the courthouse will remain closed until Tuesday.

Police officers escorted students at a nearby school to buses.
