San Francisco police have arrested a suspect in a rash of anti-Chinese graffiti discovered this weekend in two southeast neighborhoods.

Police announced Wednesday that John Schenone was booked into County Jail on suspicion of five felony counts of vandalism and five felony counts of committing a hate crime.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1NqJT9k ) witnesses led investigators to believe that the 62-year-old San Francisco resident was responsible for spray-painting six messages of "No more Chinese" in orange paint Sunday at five locations in the Portola and Bayview neighborhoods.

Among the vandalized places were a recreation center, an out-of-business supermarket, and a home under construction.
