A new report says American students are increasingly studying abroad in nontraditional destinations like Chile and Peru.
At the same time, U.S. universities are hosting a growing number of students from China.
The study released Monday by the Institute of International Education found that nearly 128,000 Chinese students studied in America in 2009-10, a 30 percent increase over the previous academic year.
