WOBURN, Mass. – The son of Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy is due in court Tuesday for a status conference on murder charges he faces in the killing of his girlfriend.
Jared Remy is charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing of Jennifer Martel at the couple's Waltham apartment last year.
Remy appeared in Middlesex Superior Court on Thursday while his lawyer and prosecutors met with a judge in her chambers. The hearing is scheduled to continue Tuesday morning.
Remy has pleaded not guilty in the death of 27-year-old Martel. He was arrested Aug. 13 after he allegedly pushed Martel into a mirror. He was released on his own recognizance on Aug. 14 and is accused of stabbing Martel the next day.
The couple has a 5-year-old daughter.
