Purebreds compete at Westminster Kennel Club dog show in New York
More than 2,000 purebred dogs in 185 breeds competed in the nation's most prestigious dog show at New York's Madison Square Garden and when it came down to a best of seven, Malachy, a Pekingese, was the last to enter the darkened ring. The crowd at Madison Square Garden grew louder with every tiny step Malachy took, and he sure took a lot of them just to get halfway around the dog show ring. That was perfect for this Pekingese. Gave him more time to soak in the cheers and look around the stands at his adoring fans Tuesday night, the Associated Press reported.
