Police: Man injured when tornado touches down in Louisiana

At least three tornadoes have touched down in Louisiana, injuring at least one person.
The National Weather Service confirms two EF-1 twisters hit Baton Rouge and the town of White Castle in Iberville Parish with winds of about 90 mph, while an EF-0 tornado struck Marrero in Jefferson Parish, packing winds of about 70 mph.
Meteorologist Michael Hill says Friday's storms were the results of a cold front pushing east through the state.

Baton Rouge Police Sgt. L'Jean Mckneely Jr. said a man was taken to a hospital after Friday morning's storm flipped his vehicle. Mckneely said his injuries weren't considered life-threatening.
National Weather Service meteorologist Tim Destri said the tornado also tore down power lines and caused some structural damage after it hit about 9 a.m. Friday in Baton Rouge. Hill said the other twisters brought down trees and tore shingles off roofs, while the storm in Marrero also blew out car windows.
On Thursday, strong storms spawned one tornado, and possibly two in Oklahoma. The storms stretched from northeast Texas through the mid-Atlantic states to the North Carolina coast.

Also Thursday, a thunderstorm knocked out power for thousands of customers in North Carolina.
