A Montana state senator will plead no contest to allegations he was drunk when he crashed his boat, injuring himself, U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg and three other passengers aboard.
A plea agreement filed late Tuesday shows that Republican State Sen. Greg Barkus will plead no contest to felony criminal endangerment for the August 2009 crash on the rocky shoreline of Flathead Lake, south of Bigfork.
The crash injured Rehberg, two of his staffers, Barkus and his wife. Rehberg staffer Dustin Frost was in a coma for more than a week after the crash.

The plea agreement was signed by Barkus, his attorney Todd Glazier and Flathead County Attorney Ed Corrigan. It calls for Barkus to pay $4,000 in restitution.
District Judge John McKeon, of Malta, must approve the agreement.
