Pittsburgh postmaster accused of threatening retaliation for workers who reported drug parcels
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Pittsburgh's postmaster has been charged with threatening to retaliate against employees if they reported seeing him opening parcels and removing the illegal drugs inside.
Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala Jr. announced the charges Tuesday against 50-year-old Daniel Davis, who transferred to Pittsburgh from Toledo, Ohio, last year.
Davis is charged with intimidating witnesses and official oppression.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Davis' attorney declined to comment Wednesday. Phone calls by The Associated Press to numbers that may belong to Davis in Canonsburg weren't answered Wednesday.
The district attorney's spokesman says any drug charges related to the case would fall under federal jurisdiction. State prosecutors say the drugs included cocaine and heroin.
U.S. Attorney David Hickton would say only that the case has been referred to the DA's office for prosecution.
