PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia police say they have captured a murder suspect in Harrisburg six days after he escaped from a prisoner van.

Philadelphia police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore confirms that 22-year-old Omar Roane was in custody late Friday.

U.S. marshals had been offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the Southwest Philadelphia man's capture.

Authorities say Roane and two other prisoners forced their way out of the van on Aug. 14 as it was on its way to a Philadelphia prison. The others were quickly apprehended.

Roane is charged with the June 9 murder of 17-year-old Kyree Young.

No other details of his capture were immediately available.
