CINCINNATI – Attorneys for an Ohio woman accused of suffocating her three sons out of jealousy over attention her husband paid them want the prosecutor's office removed from the case for interrogating her without her lawyer present.
Twenty-three-year-old Brittany Pilkington, of Bellefontaine (bel-FOWN'-tihn), has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder charges.
The motion asks the court to disqualify the Logan County prosecutor's office, saying Pilkington was interviewed improperly.
The prosecutor says the interview wasn't related to Pilkington's case but involved a separate case against her husband, who has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting her when she was underage. Authorities don't suspect him in the deaths.
The Associated Press generally doesn't identify possible victims of sexual assault, but Pilkington's name and image have been widely published.
