An officer and suspect were both hurt in a Wednesday afternoon shooting in Indianapolis, WISH-TV reports.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department tweeted that an officer was “shot as a result of this officer-involved shooting.”
Police were called to execute a search warrant, Sgt. Christopher Wilburn told the media in a video posted online by The Indianapolis Star.
"Officers were executing, again, a valid search warrant," Wilburn said. "They were fired upon by someone inside the home. They returned fire. An officer was struck, as well as a suspect."
The officer was taken to a hospital in good condition, and a suspect transported to the same hospital was in critical condition, according to Wilburn. Police are continuing to investigate.
