A judge is expected to order life sentences for a Detroit-area man convicted of killing four women whom he met through an online escort site.

The no-parole punishments are mandatory for James Brown of Sterling Heights. He was convicted of first-degree murder in the deaths of four women whose bodies were stashed in cars in Detroit in 2011.

A hearing is set for Tuesday in Macomb County Circuit Court.

The 26-year-old Brown admits the women died in pairs on different days in his basement. But he told police he couldn't explain why they died. Authorities believe the victims were asphyxiated by the much-larger Brown.

The women met Brown through Backpage.com, which carries personal ads for people looking for sex.
