No indictment against 'Tan Mom' in New Jersey
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}New Jersey's infamous "Tan Mom" escaped charges of child endangerment Tuesday for allegedly treating her 5-year-old daughter to a session at a Garden State tanning salon, The New York Post reported.
A grand jury in Essex County, N.J., declined to charge her with a crime.
Patricia Krentcil got into trouble with the law when staff at her daughter's school noticed burns on the girl's legs, MyFoxNY.com reported. The girl reportedly told authorities she got them from being in the tanning booth with her mother.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}That led police to Krentcil, whose heavily tanned face was on newspapers and magazines across the country. She spoke openly about her love of tanning salons but denied bringing her daughter to one.
Officials charged her with child endangerment. It is illegal in New Jersey for anyone under 14 to use a tanning booth.
Krentcil told a London newspaper she wants to leave the Garden State and move to a place like London where people are less small-minded. The paper reported that she wants to start selling her own line of tanning lotion.
