The home was already fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived. The man was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Spike Hopkins says deputies don't know whether the man lived at the home. Detectives are investigating the shooting.
Fire rescue spokesman John Mulhall says no other victims were inside the house, but a dog died in the fire.
