Navy helicopter crashes in Virginia river, 3 crewmembers rescued

A Navy helicopter crashed in Virginia's James River Tuesday during a training mission and crews rescued three people on board, officials confirmed.
The MH-60S helicopter crashed north of the James River Bridge outside Norfolk. Fox News is told a boater picked up the three crewmembers from the helicopter and helped get them to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
Photos from the scene show the crewmembers walking on their own after making it back to land.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Initial reports indicate none of the injuries was life-threatening. Navy officials said investigators would look into what triggered the crash.
The Coast Guard was sending a small boat out to the area to assess the situation, according to John Miller, a spokesman for the Coast Guard's 5th District.
The helicopter was assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two based at Norfolk Naval Station Chambers Field.
