Murderer, acquaintances give conflicting statements on whether others knew about 4 Ohio deaths
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Ohio police records show a quadruple murderer and two of his acquaintances have given conflicting statements about whether anyone knew about the killings before he confessed to police.
Forty-one-year-old Donald Hoffman pleaded guilty and is serving life in prison for the slayings last year in the city of Bucyrus (byoo-SY'-rus).
Hoffman told police he'd confessed to a woman and man who drank and used cocaine with him. The man denied knowing about the slayings. The woman told police Hoffman once returned bloody, but she said it was because he'd been beaten up.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Other information obtained by police raised questions about whether the pair knew more than they let on. But authorities say there was no corroborated evidence that anyone besides Hoffman had knowledge that would have prevented a death.
